Eric Koenig holds a Juris Doctor from the University of North Texas at Dallas College of Law, a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of North Texas, and an Associate in Claims Professional Designation from The Institutes.

Before becoming a licensed attorney Eric spent 12 years working in insurance defense as an all-lines adjuster specializing in catastrophic bodily injury, and complex litigation claims.  During this time Eric specialized in hospitality representing large worldwide hotel services such as Hilton hotels. Eric also specialized in trucking claims representing several nationwide trucking companies.

Eric has also served as the Risk Manager for the City of Denton where he furthered his experience by overseeing the general liability claims process including complex services such as police, fire, and energy production, overseeing workers' compensation claims, managing regulatory fines, and reviewing contracts for legal compliance as well as risk and safety standards. 

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Eric is deeply committed to community service. He has served as a peer mentor at the University of North Texas passing on his knowledge to undergraduate students considering a career in law. He actively contributes to Denton's Day of the Dead Festival, a 501c3 non-profit, as the Risk Officer and Volunteer Coordinator. Eric also volunteers at Metro Crest Service Food Bank and volunteered for the Denton County Medical Reserve Corps, supporting Covid clinics during the pandemic.
